Qualcomm explains how its SD 888 SoC will be

a huge leap for phone cameras.

The recently announced 888 chipset has a triple image signal processor(ISP), which allows it to capture three camera streams from different vantage points and stitch them together to create the best overall output possible.

The spectra 580 ISP supports the newest sensor technology called staggered HDR for computational videography. The ISP can capture 2.7 gigapixel per second allowing is to snap 120 12mega pixel pictures per second. A triple ISP also allows smooth transitioning of lenses while recording video.

But, the final image or video will also be affected by a manufactures software, camera hardware and lenses. Qualcomm provided the main ingredient for a great camera experience and we'll have to see what the OEM,s have to offer us through next years flagships.
