Huawei Mate X2 announced in China.
Huawei has announced a successor to their foldable lineup yesterday in China. The Mate X2 was released and has big changes in design and functionality from its predecessor, the Mate Xs. Huawei has not released the phone globally yet, but a launch event will soon take place for European and other markets.
Specifications
The Mate X2 has an inner folding design this year like the galaxy fold2. The external display is a 6.45 inch 90hz OLED panel. What makes the external display appealing is the 21:9 aspect ratio, unlike the 25:9 aspect ratio on the Galaxy Fold2 which makes the display look taller and harder to use.

Powering the phone is Huawei latest flagship HiSilicon Kirin 9000 SoC with 5G compatibility. It has 8GB of ram and is available in two storage variants 256/512 GB. The phone runs on Android 10 with EMUI 11 on top. It's annoying that Android 11 is not available even after months of it's release.
The cameras on this phone is also flagship level. The main sensor is a 50MP sensor with OIS, a 16 MP ultrawide camera which also doubles as a macro lens, and two telephoto lenses with 3X and 10X optical zoom that can go upto 100X digital. The selfie camera is a 16 MP sensor with f2.2 aperture.
The phone has a 4500mah with 55w wired charging. It doesn't support wireless charging. Overall, it is good to see that Huawei is still working on their foldables even after ban on using google services. The Mate X2 brings major competition to Samsung's Foldables in the Chinese and Asian markets.
