The most anticipated OnePlus 9 series will arrive by the 1st week of March. The series will consist of  3 phones: the regular 9, 9 pro, and the new 9 lite which could be the 1st OnePlus phone with 'lite' in it's name. The 9 series have major improvements in the camera quality over the 8 series, which had above average cameras, but not flagship level.

OnePlus 9 pro

This year, the 9 pro will have QHD+ 120hz curved screen with adaptive refresh rate and a punch hole cutout for the selfie camera. The phone will come with Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 888 SoC for snappy performance. The cameras come with big upgrades as OnePlus have partnered with Hasselblad for optics and Google for camera software. There will be no unwanted cameras this year like the photochrom lens that the 8 pro had. The selfie camera will also have major improvements.

OnePlus 9

The regular 9 will have a similar screen like the 8T from last year with 1080p resolution and 120hz refresh rate. Snapdragon 888 will also power this phone as OnePlus never let their cheaper phones lack performance. Cameras consist of a main lens, ultrawide and a telephoto lens or an unwanted macro camera/depth sensor. This year OnePlus will add wireless charging to the 9, but it will not be as fast as the 9 pro.

The complete lineup will have Oxygen OS 11 on top of Android 11, the alert slider, stereo speakers and any sort of water resistance rating. The 9 lite will be a toned down version of the vanilla 9.

OnePlus will face major competition this year from other brands like Samsung and Apple with phones like the S21/S21+ and iPhone 12/12 mini, and the camera quality will alone decide if people will buy a OnePlus instead of a Samsung, but in other terms OnePlus phones have the best in class performance, great build quality, and Oxygen OS which my favorite UI of all times.
