OnePlus recently released a successor to the Nord lineup, the Core Edition. The naming is definitely a bit off and they managed to cut the price by a 100 pounds or 5000 rupees from last year. The phone doesn't look like a worthy upgrade to last year's Nord, and the pricing is also a bit confusing.

Specifications

The Nord CE is powered by the Snapdragon 750G chipset, which also has 5G but there is only one 5G band in the Indian variant. The display is a 1080p 90hz OLED panel, exactly the same as last year's Nord. The battery has a slight bump in capacity from 4115 to 4500mah Camera setup consists of a 64MP main shooter , an 8MP ultrawide and a 2MP monochrome sensor. The selfie shooter is a 16MP sensor. The phone has a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Is it worth it?

Looking at the specifications of the phone, it is definitely not good at a starting price of  23,000 rupees. The IQOO Z3 costs 18000 rupees and packs a more powerful chip with a 120hz display and better quality cameras. The legendary alert slider which is present in all OnePlus phones is gone.

OnePlus definitely started settling this year and the Nord CE looks like a rebranded Nord with Oxygen OS 11 on top. This phone is only for people who is a fan of Oxygen OS and wants an overall good phone which that performs averagely in all aspects, but doesn't do anything great. The strongpoint of this phone is Oxygen OS, and I don't know how long will OnePlus go like this with Oxygen OS as an excuse.
